Ready or Not! Living Prepared in Uncertain Times
What does it mean to be spiritually “ready”? Have you ever felt unprepared for a moment God placed in front of you? Are you spiritually ready?
Being spiritually ready means being prepared in heart, mind, and soul to engage deeply with God and the teachings of faith. It involves openness to growth, a willingness to listen and respond to God's guidance, and a commitment to live out spiritual truths in everyday life. Being spiritually ready doesn't mean perfection; it means readiness to seek, learn, repent, and serve with a humble and trusting spirit.
Our Bible Scripture Sunday came from Matthew 24:3-14. Jesus was sitting quietly when His disciples came up and had questions regarding the end of the ages. This passage includes warnings about deception, persecution, and falling away. It’s not just about predicting the future; it is about being faithful in the present.
Take a moment and Google how many false messiahs and prophets the earth has encountered after Jesus walked the earth. While you are at it, go ahead and Google other topics Jesus talked to His disciples about regarding wars, famine, and preaching the word worldwide. You may be surprised to see things have already happened that echoed Jesus’ warnings in Matthew 24.
Our challenge for this Bible lesson is:
How can we cultivate endurance and love in a world that feels increasingly hostile?
What does “being ready” look like in your daily walk with Christ?
How can the church help believers stay faithful and focused?
This week, identify one area where you feel spiritually “unready” and commit to taking one step toward readiness. Memorize Matthew 24:13: “But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
