Free Will

Free Will is a profoundly complex gift from God that can be difficult to fully understand, especially for those who have not yet come to know Him. The concept of Free Will first became truly evident with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Before their choice, life was perfect and guided directly by God's will. However, the moment they faced temptation—when the serpent whispered doubt into their ears—they were confronted with a critical decision.

The serpent's lies sowed seeds of uncertainty, causing Adam and Eve to question God’s command. This doubt led them to choose disobedience, marking the original sin and the fall of man. Their choice to entertain doubt rather than trust in God's truth is where Free Will was exercised most profoundly. It shows that Free Will is not just about making choices but also about the heart’s response to God’s guidance.

Understanding Free Will in this light helps us see it as the freedom—and responsibility—to choose between trusting God or doubting Him. Without the knowledge of God’s love and truth, it can be nearly impossible to grasp why Free Will matters so deeply. But through faith and relationship with God, we come to embrace Free Will as a sacred gift that defines our journey with Him.

Thank God for prevenient grace, justifying grace, and sanctifying grace. Prevenient grace is the beautiful gift God gives us before we even realize we need it—it’s His loving hand that draws us close, preparing our hearts. Justifying grace is like seeing an open door and knowing Jesus is waiting on the other side. When we choose to walk through that door, we accept His forgiveness and begin the journey of becoming more like Him. Sanctifying grace is the power that strengthens us each day to live holy lives, growing in faith and love as we strive to reflect Christ in all we do.

Let us be grateful for these incredible expressions of God’s love and grace at every stage of our Christian walk. Free Will is a very difficult gift. Some choose to use their Free Will to grow closer to Christ, while others take their Free Will to reject and walk away from Christ. Yet, in both choices, God’s love remains steadfast, patiently waiting for each of us to embrace His grace fully. May we cherish this freedom not only as a responsibility but as a sacred opportunity to deepen our relationship with Him every day.
